LIC is bringing its IPO in the next few months, in which policyholders can invest. The corporation has asked its policyholders to update their PAN details from their policy as soon as possible and open a demat account as well.

If you have a policy of the country’s biggest government insurance company LIC (Life Insurance Corporation), then there is a big news for you from LIC. The company has asked its policyholders to update their PAN (Permanent Account Number) details from their policy soon and open a demat account as well.

Actually, the corporation is bringing its IPO i.e. initial public offering in the next few months , in which policyholders can invest. Let us tell you that LIC’s IPO will be the biggest IPO of the country so far. It is known that the government can earn up to Rs 90,000 crore by selling its stake in the company.

Let us tell you that there is no clear information about when LIC’s IPO will come. But it is known that 10 percent of the IPO that LIC will bring will be reserved for policyholders.

LIC has said in its latest statement that ‘In order to participate in any such public offering, policyholders will have to ensure that the corporation has updated details of their PAN. At the same time, subscription to any public offering in India can be done only if you have a valid DEMAT account.

The corporation also said that the expenses incurred for updating PAN details and for opening and maintaining demat account will be borne by the policyholder only, and LIC will not bear the cost.

How will LIC Policy-PAN Linking happen?

You should know that even if you are not going to invest in IPO, it is still necessary for you to link your policies with PAN, so please also tell how to link PAN with LIC policy-

  • To link PAN with LIC policy, you have to keep both the policy and PAN number together. It is also important that the mobile number associated with your policy should be active as LIC will send you an OTP in this process.
  • First of all you haveĀ  to go to https://licindia.in .
  • On the homepage of the official website of LIC, you have to go to ‘Online Service’.
  • In the online service section, you have to click on ‘Online PAN Registration’.
  • On clicking, you will reach a new page.
  • Here you have to click on ‘Proceed’.
  • Here you have to fill the date of birth, gender, email id, PAN, full name, mobile number, policy number.
  • Enter the captcha by ticking the declaration box.
  • Then you have to click on ‘Get OTP’.
  • This OTP will be received on your registered mobile number.
  • You will have to enter your OTP on the Verify User Details page.
  • If your verification is successful, then you will get its acknowledgment.
