So the wheels of Maharashtra have come to a grinding halt. On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Maharashtra Transporters Action Committee (M-TAC) launched an indefinite strike. The goal of this protest is to force the government to roll back the current e-challan system. In fact, the strike involves trucks, buses, taxis, and even school vans. Plus, the transporters claim that the government has ignored their safety and infrastructure needs for too long.

Worth noting: Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has hinted at some concessions, but the operators refuse to trust verbal promises. Ultimately, as the strike enters its second day, the state is bracing for a total shutdown of the supply chain.
