Motorola just launched the Edge 70 in India, and the phone’s whole selling point is built around an uncompromisingly slim design. The device measures just 5.99mm thick, which is crazy thin, but they somehow packed some serious specs inside.
The launch price for the single 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is set at ₹29,999. And then you can shave off another ₹1,000 using select bank cards, bringing the effective price down to ₹28,999. It goes on sale on December 23rd via Flipkart and other retail channels.

Power, Screen, and Durability
Motorola wasn’t willing to compromise much, even with the super-slim profile.
-
Processor: It’s powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. This is a robust upper mid-range chip, clocking over 1 million on the AnTuTu v10 benchmark, making it a powerful daily driver, if not a hardcore gaming monster.
-
Display: You get a huge 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is reportedly up to a massive 4,500 nits, which is completely insane for outdoor visibility.
-
Durability: The build is serious: an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and IP68 + IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It even has a MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification.

The Camera and AI Focus
The phone is leaning heavily on camera hardware—a major theme in this segment.
-
Triple 50MP Setup: It rocks three 50-megapixel sensors in total:
-
50MP Primary with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).
-
50MP Ultrawide camera.
-
50MP Selfie Camera on the front.
-
-
AI Integration: The camera system uses new Moto AI tools like AI Video Enhancement and AI Action Shot. The phone also comes with the full suite of Moto AI tools, including Next Move and Remember This + Recall, running on Android 16 with the promise of three OS upgrades and four years of security patches.

The Battery Surprise
The thing is, thin phones usually sacrifice battery life, but Motorola managed a feat here:
-
Battery Tech: It packs a 5,000mAh silicon carbon battery. This newer tech helps provide high capacity in a smaller, lighter form factor.
-
Charging: You get both 68W wired and 15W wireless fast charging support, which is very versatile.
The sheer thinness (5.99mm) and light weight (159g), combined with a large battery and powerful chip, are definitely the Edge 70’s main attraction, let’s be real.
