Bengaluru:N., the scientist who lent her voice to the countdown of many missions of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) including its ‘Chandrayaan-3’ mission. Valarmathi died after suffering a heart attack in Chennai. An official gave this information on Monday. ISRO official said that Valarmati breathed his last in a hospital in Chennai. It is said that ‘Chandrayaan-3’ was his last countdown program.

After the death of Valarmathi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar and many others expressed condolences. Most people remembered his countdown echoing from the Mission Control Center at ISRO’s Sriharikota space center during several launches. Dr P V Venkatakrishnan, former ISRO director, said, “Valarmati Madam’s voice will no longer be heard as we count down ISRO’s future missions from Sriharikota.”

The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics and Technology said, “His voice was behind the countdown of many launch programs of ISRO, including Chandrayaan 3. N. Sad to hear about Valarmati ji’s demise.

He said, “My condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.” Stalin said that Valarmati handled a challenging task efficiently as the ‘Mission Range Speaker’. Stalin expressed grief over his demise.
