The old age pension given to the elderly of Uttar Pradesh has been increased to 1000. Earlier this amount was Rs 500 per month. Explain that the ruling party BJP had promised to increase the amount of pension given to old age, disabled and destitute women during the election campaign.

With the increase in the amount of old age pension from Rs 500 to Rs 1 thousand by the Yogi government, about 1 crore people across the state will be benefited. For this, the government will spend about 18 thousand crore rupees every year.

How to apply for pension

  • To apply for old age pension, first of all you have to go to the official website of UP government, sspy-up.gov.in.
  • On the home page of the website, you have to click on the option of old age pension.
  • After this a new page will open. In this, you have to click on the option of online application. After clicking, a new page will open for registration.
  • All the information asked in the registration form such as personal details, bank details, income details will have to be filled.
  • After filling the information, you have to upload all the necessary documents.
  • After uploading the document, you have to tick on the option of declaration. Then you have to click on submit.
  • Documents required to apply
  • Birth/Age Proof, Voter ID, Aadhar Card or Ration Card or any one of the Identity Proof, Income Certificate attested from the Competent Authority.
