Government oil companies have once again increased the price of petrol and diesel by 80 paise on Thursday. Companies have increased by Rs 6.40 per liter since March 22 and do not expect any further price relief to cover their losses.

Government oil companies have also increased the prices of petrol and diesel in all major cities including the four metros of the country on Thursday. Petrol in Delhi has become costlier by 80 paise per liter and has reached Rs.101.81.
Diesel was also selling above Rs 93 per liter. However, the most expensive petrol is still available in Mumbai at Rs 116.68 per liter.
There was an increase of 84 paise, due to which the price of diesel has also reached close to Rs 101. Petrol has become costlier by 76 paise in Chennai and 83 paise in Kolkata.

- Petrol in Port Blair has become Rs 88.60 and diesel Rs 82.89 per liter.
- Petrol in Patna has become Rs 112.48 and diesel Rs 97.48 per liter.
New rates are released every morning at 6 am
Petrol and diesel prices change every day at 6 am. The new rates are applicable from 6 am onwards. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price becomes almost double of the original price. This is the reason why the prices of petrol and diesel appear so high.
