Rates have increased in these plans

The government has increased the interest rate on post office one-year time deposits from 6.8 per cent to 6.9 per cent for the July to September quarter. The rate on 2-year time deposits has been increased from 6.9 per cent to 7 per cent. At the same time, now you will get 6.5 percent interest rate instead of 6.2 percent on 5-year post office RD.

8% interest will continue to be available on Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

The government has retained the interest rate on Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for the July to September quarter. In this scheme, you will continue to get 8 percent interest rate.

Interest not increased on PPF this time also

The interest rate on Public Provident Fund Scheme (PPF Interest Rates) has been retained. In this scheme, you will continue to get 7.1 percent interest rate. At the same time, 7.7 percent interest rate has been maintained in the National Savings Certificate. The interest rate on Senior Citizen Savings Scheme and Monthly Income Account Scheme has also not been changed. 8.2 percent interest rate has been retained in the Senior Citizen Savings Scheme. At the same time, 7.4 percent interest will continue to be available on the Monthly Income Account Scheme.
