What is the rule-

If you do not surrender the ration card, then after verification the Food Department team can cancel your ration card. Not only this, action can also be taken against such people. According to the Food Department, if a card holder has a plot/flat or house of 100 square meters taken from his own income, then he is ineligible for the free ration scheme. Apart from this, if anyone has a wheeler/car/tractor, arms license, annual income of more than Rs 2 lakh in village and Rs 3 lakh in city, then such people will have to surrender the ration card in the tehsil or DSO office.

If the ration card holder does not surrender the card, then the card of such people will be canceled after investigation. In fact, even in rural areas and urban areas, people who are completely prosperous have got APL and BPL ration cards made. Investigation has also revealed that ration cards have not yet been made for many eligible families.
