Samsung Galaxy A51 becomes world’s best-selling Android smartphone

New Delhi, Tech Desk. Samsung launched its Galaxy A51 smartphone in India early in the year. This smartphone comes with L-shaped quad rear camera set-up. Also, it has a setly allied punch-hole display just like the Galaxy Note 10 series. According to a report by Research Organization Strategy Analytics, the Galaxy A51 4G variant is the globally best-selling Android smartphone in the first quarter of the year. More than 6 million units of this smartphone have been shipped in the first quarter. Despite the problems faced in the supply chain due to the Coronavirus lockdown, this smartphone has been the highest selling.

Xiaomi Redmi 8 is the second best selling smartphone after Samsung Galaxy A51 . The first quarter of the year has been a challenge for smartphone makers. All major tech events were canceled due to Coronavirus. Also, the lockdown in two of the largest smartphone markets China and India has also affected the sales of smartphones. A total of 275 million smartphones have been shipped globally in the first quarter. 86 percent of these smartphones come with Android operating system. At the same time, 14 percent of smartphones run on the iOS platform.


Samsung Galaxy A51 (4G) has a global market share of 2.3 percent in the Android segment and occupies the first position. After this comes the number of Xiaomi Redmi 8, with 1.9 percent market share, it occupies the second number. Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S20 + launched this year has been ranked third. Its market share is 1.7 percent. Galaxy A10s and Redmi Note 8 occupy the fourth position with 1.6 percent market share. At the same time, Galaxy A20s is at fifth position with 1.4 percent market share. This is how Samsung dominates the list of top-5 best-selling Android smartphones globally in the first quarter of the year.
