Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag 2, a new and improved version of its popular item tracker. The brand has also unveiled other new products in the global market like Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and the Buds FE. The SmartTag 2 is set to launch worldwide on October 10th, and it promises to redefine the way we keep track of our valuables.

One of the standout features of the SmartTag 2 is its improved Compass View functionality. This feature provides users with directional arrows showing the location and distance of the SmartTag 2 relative to their position. It works with any UWB-supported Galaxy smartphone, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The SmartThings Find app has also been upgraded to make it easier to track your SmartTag 2 devices. Newly registered SmartTags are now integrated into the app, and there is a new full-screen map view and an intuitive interface.

Battery life has also been significantly extended with the introduction of the Power Saving Mode. In Power Saving Mode, the SmartTag 2 can last up to an impressive 700 days on a single charge. Even in Normal Mode, battery life is increased by 50%, offering up to 500 days of tracking.

The SmartTag 2 also features a sleek new design with a compact size and a robust ring-shaped structure. A metal loop addition enables the attachment of accessories such as clips and keyrings. The device is also now rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for tracking belongings in challenging environments.

The SmartTag 2 retains popular features from its predecessors, like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities. Augmented Reality (AR) Find technology is also included, and privacy and security are ensured through user consent and encryption.

This innovative device also integrates seamlessly with SmartThings Station, serving as an always-at-home device scanner for keeping track of tagged items.
