Schools will not be able to force fees in lockdown, DM of Noida-Ghaziabad directed

A 21-day lockdown is in force in the country due to Corona virus. School-colleges are closed along with rail, bus, airline. Many competitive examinations have also been postponed. Now the District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad has also taken a tough stance on educational institutions.

The District Magistrate has issued this order in view of Corona’s disease taking the form of an epidemic. Violation of order can lead to imprisonment up to two years. Earlier, the period of Section 144 applicable in Noida was also extended till April 30.

The order to extend the term of section 144 was issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashutosh Dwivedi. Significantly, cases of corona virus are increasing rapidly in the country. The most cases of corona in Uttar Pradesh have been reported in Noida, adjacent to the national capital Delhi.



Ghaziabad administration issued order

After Noida, the Ghaziabad administration has also said that during the lockdown period, no school or other type of educational institution will force them to deposit fees from the parents of the children.



Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has told all educational institutions in the district under the Disaster Management Act 2005 and the Epidemic Act that they will not force the parents of the children to pay fees nor deprive them of online education. Also, under no circumstances will the name of the children be cut from the school. Violation of this provision can lead to a sentence of 1 year. According to the order, the guardian who is a guardian can collect the fees.
