The new rate has come into effect from today

The annual revision is expected to be in the range of five per cent on an average. A senior NHAI official said, “The new fee will be applicable from June 3.” This change in toll fee is part of the annual process of revising the rates linked to changes in Wholesale Price Index (CPI) based inflation.

There are about 855 toll tax plazas on the National Highway network, where toll tax is levied as per the National Highway Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

New rates have been posted

On the national highway, the list of new rates has been put up on Sunday night itself. However, there has been no increase in toll tax for cars, jeeps, vans and light vehicles. They will have to pay Rs 130 for one side as before. At the same time, there has been no increase in toll for light commercial vehicles, cargo vehicles and mini buses. Currently, these vehicles pay Rs 210 for one side. They will have to pay the same amount in future as well.

The toll for two-axle trucks and buses has been increased by Rs 5. The one-way toll for three-axle commercial vehicles has also been increased by Rs 5 to Rs 480. Now, seven-axle trucks will also have to pay Rs 835, an increase of Rs 5, for one side.

Increase in monthly pass also

Talking about monthly passes, monthly passes for cars, jeeps and light vehicles will now be made for Rs 4315 instead of Rs 4290. On the other hand, monthly passes for light commercial vehicles, cargo vehicles and mini buses will be made for Rs 6,970 instead of Rs 6,930.
