Traffic Police : Now on changing the state, you are going to get rid of the hassle of changing the registration number of the vehicle.
Bharat Series (BH) number plate is going to give a special facility to the vehicle owners which will prove to be very beneficial.
The Government of India had earlier started a pilot project for the registration number of BH or Bharat Series and now it has been started across the country for new vehicles. The government has given this information through a statement in Parliament.
This number plate will have the advantage that it will not have the registration number of any state or union territory and it will start with BH.
With this, the need to change the number is over if you take your vehicle from any state to another state.
Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari issued a written statement in Parliament saying that the Bharat series for new vehicles has been introduced.
How much tax will have to be paid?
VIP number facility is not provided in BH series number plate and this number will be completely different from the normal number. On this number plate, first the last two digits of the current year will be written, then BH will be written and finally the four digit number will be written.
This will be a white plate on which numbers will be written in black color. For the BH series, 8 per cent road tax will be levied on vehicles costing up to Rs 10 lakh, 10 per cent on vehicles costing Rs 10-20 lakh and 12 per cent on vehicles costing more than 20 lakh.
In this figure, two percent more road tax will have to be paid on diesel vehicles, while this tax on electric vehicles will be reduced by 2 percent.
If the transfer keeps happening, then there is a big advantage
The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari also said that under the amended Motor Vehicles Act in August 2020, the government had sent a notification regarding this change.
With the BH Series registration plate, you will no longer need to change the registration number when you shift to any state across the country. This is very beneficial for those people whose transfer keeps happening continuously.
It is claimed that after the release of this series, the drivers will be very comfortable and they will be able to shift from one state to another without any problem.
It has also come to the fore in this statement that the employees of the Defense, Central Government and State Government will have the option to choose BH Series voluntarily.
Registration of BH series to private sector as well
Apart from government employees, apart from PUCs of the central and state, private sector companies whose offices are present in 4 or more states, the employees of those companies will also be given BH series registration for their private vehicles.
On choosing BH series number, you will have to pay vehicle tax for two years or in multiple number of two years. After the completion of 14 years, tax on motor vehicle will be charged annually and its amount will be halved.
Along with Karnataka, many other states are already giving the registration numbers of BH series to the vehicle owners of select groups. However, at present, only the central government employees are being issued BH series numbers by the state governments.
