7th Pay Commission HRA Hike: Big news is coming for central government employees. The increase in DA every six months will be applicable from July 1. Apart from this, the employees are going to get another good news. With both these changes, there will be a tremendous jump in the salary of the employees. In fact, an increase of 4 percent in DA, which will be implemented from July 1, is believed to be fixed. If this happens then the DA of the employees will increase to 46 percent.

The calculation will completely change

After six months, there will be an increase in the DA (Dearness Allowance) of the employees again. If this increase is also of 4 percent, then the calculation of the employees will change completely. Yes, the DA of January 2024 may be announced in February or March, but along with the dearness allowance, the house rent allowance of central employees will also increase.

HRA was revised after crossing 25%

If you want to know the reason for this, then it will be because it has already been said in a notification that the HRA of the employees is linked to the dearness allowance. As soon as DA crosses 50 percent, there will be a change in HRA. On increasing the DA by 4-4 percent both times, the maximum jump will come in HRA. Earlier in July 2021, the HRA was revised after the dearness allowance crossed 25%. At that time the government had increased the dearness allowance to 28 percent. Presently the rate of HRA is 27%, 18% and 9%.

Right now HRA is this much percentage

According to the memorandum of DoPT, the basis of change in HRA for central employees is DA hike. House rent allowance is being given at the rate of 27 percent, 18 percent and 9 percent according to the category of the city. This change is applicable from 1 July 2021. According to the memorandum issued in 2015, the HRA will be revised once the DA reaches 50 percent.

On reaching 50 percent of DA, the next revision of HRA will be of a maximum of 3 percent. That is, 27 percent HRA (HRA) will increase to 30 percent. But this will happen at a time when DA will be 50%. Similarly, HRA of 18 percent will increase to 20 and HRA of 9 percent will increase to 10 percent. That is, according to the category X, Y and Z of the city, central employees will get 30, 20 and 10 percent HRA respectively.

The maximum basic salary of central employees is Rs 56,900 according to the 7th Pay Commission. In such a situation, an employee with a basic salary of 56,900 gets Rs 15,363 every month at the rate of 27 percent house rent. But after its increase to 30 percent, Rs 17,070 will be received every month under this item. In this way the total difference of one month will be Rs.1707.
