No proposal is under consideration: Minister of State for Finance

He said regarding the 8th Pay Commission that no such proposal is under consideration of the government. He told in the Rajya Sabha that the government has not even considered the recommendation to revise the pay matrix of central employees without waiting for 10 years.

Chaudhary was asked in the Rajya Sabha that in January 2024, the DA and DR of the employees would cross 50 percent, whether the government has proposed to set up the 8th Pay Commission? On this he denied any such proposal.

The recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission were implemented in 2016.

Tell us that the Central Government constitutes a Pay Commission every 10 years to make changes in the salary structure of the employees. So far seven pay commissions have come in the country. The first pay commission was constituted in January 1946 while the seventh pay commission was constituted in February 2014 and its recommendations were implemented in 2016.

At present the employees are getting 42 per cent dearness allowance

Central employees are being given dearness allowance at the rate of 42 per cent. Despite the inflation from the government, the employees maintain their standard of living, hence dearness allowance is given. Dearness Allowance is reviewed twice a year. Dearness Allowance is reviewed in January and July.
