Monthly plan of Rs 129 became Rs 179
The company has also changed the price of Amazon Prime’s monthly plan and Amazon Prime’s quarterly plan. The base monthly subscription plan will cost Rs 179 from December 14 instead of Rs 129.
Quarterly pack price also increased
Similarly, the quarterly pack, which was earlier priced at Rs 329, will now be available in India for Rs 459. The change in pricing will not affect those who currently have an active membership. Customers with Amazon Prime membership will continue to get all the benefits under the service. These include one-day/two-day delivery to eligible pin codes, Amazon Prime Video membership, Amazon Prime Music subscription, etc. Customers get early access to the annual Amazon Great Indian Festival sale and daily Lightning deals.
Price hiked after 4 years
Amazon has increased the price of its Prime subscription service in India for the first time since 2017. The service was introduced in 2016 at an introductory price of Rs 499 per year, which was later revised to Rs 999 in 2017.
