Government issued notification

The government has already issued a notification regarding the G20 summit. According to the notification of Delhi Government issued on Thursday, August 24, banks, commercial businesses and financial institutions will remain closed in some selected areas. According to the notification, banks, commercial businesses and financial institutions in the New Delhi area will remain closed from September 8 to 10.

These institutions will remain closed 

All Government Departments, Undertakings, Corporations, Offices, Statutory Bodies, Educational Institutions, Organizations, Boards etc. of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. Apart from this, all private offices, educational or other institutions falling within the National Capital Territory of Delhi will also be closed.

Apart from this, all commercial banks and financial institutions located within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District, which fall within the scope of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 (26 of 1881), will also remain closed. Also, all shops, commercial and financial institutions located under the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police district will also remain closed.

How long will it be closed

According to the notification, on September 8, 2023, there will be a public holiday in such offices, which have public holidays on Saturday and Sunday. These are the reasons why there will be a public holiday on 09 September and 10 September due to Saturday and Sunday. (b) 8th and 9th September is also a public holiday in such offices for which Sunday is a public holiday. In such a situation, September 10, 2023 will be a holiday due to Sunday. However, it is a public holiday in those commercial banks and financial institutions where Sunday is not a public holiday.
