The percentage is done. The new rates of DA have been approved in the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) meeting today. The new rates will be applicable from January 1, 2023, in such a situation, the employees will also get arrears of January and February. This increase in DA and DR will be from January 2023 to June 2023 i.e. for the first half.

Actually, the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners is increased twice a year, how much the DA rates will increase depends on the AICPI data released by the Labor Ministry. In the last half year, the government had increased the DA of central employees by four per cent, after which the DA of the employees had increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent and now it has increased by 4 per cent to 42 per cent. There is a possibility of payment of 42 percent dearness allowance in March salary, in which a total of Rs 1440 will be paid separately.

1 crore employees-pensioners will get benefits

This increase is being given not only to the employees in service but also to the retired pensioners. This will benefit 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners. This announcement will put a financial burden of Rs 12,815 crore on the government every year.

This increase has been done on the basis of the formula fixed on the basis of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. The Central Government increases the dearness allowance ie dearness allowance and dearness relief ie dearness relief twice a year by reviewing it.

Union Minister gave information

Union Minister Anurag Thakur has informed about this increase after the cabinet meeting of the central government. Anurag Thakur told that due to this increase, the burden of more than Rs 12000 crore will come on the government.

The decision to increase dearness relief will be considered applicable from January 1, 2023. Tell that the Central Government increases the Dearness Allowance ie Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief ie Dearness Relief by reviewing it twice a year.

Know how much will be the increase in salary

  • If DA becomes 42% then the employee will get Rs 7,560 as DA. That means he will get Rs 720 more. That is, according to the year, there will be a benefit of Rs 8,640. If the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 56,000, then DA at the rate of 38% is Rs 21,280. After an increase of 4 per cent, it will become Rs 23,520. There will be an annual benefit of Rs 26,880.
  • If your basic salary is Rs 25,000 then you will be getting dearness allowance of Rs 9500 at present. But at 42 percent DA, it will become Rs 10,500, which means your salary will increase by Rs 12,000 annually.
  • If the basic salary of a central employee is Rs. 25500. According to 38% DA, now Rs. 9690 is available. If the DA becomes 42 per cent, the dearness allowance will increase to Rs 10,710, which means the salary will increase by Rs 1,020 every month.
  • If the basic pay of a central employee is Rs 1,8000, then at the rate of 38 per cent, dearness allowance of Rs 6,840 is made. Now after the DA is 42 per cent, the employee’s DA will increase to Rs 7,560, if seen according to the maximum basic-pay, then the dearness allowance on the basis of Rs 56,000 becomes Rs 21,280. Now if it is seen according to the increase of four percent, then it will jump to Rs 23,520, in such a situation, employees with minimum basic salary will get a benefit of Rs 720 every month and Rs 8,640 annually.
  • If the basic salary of any employee is Rs 30,000 per month, then his salary will increase by Rs 1,200 every month, according to which the annual gross salary will increase by Rs 14,400. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 2.50 lakh per month, then his annual salary will increase by Rs 1,20,000.
