The High Court has given an important decision on the ongoing agitation between the Mamata Banerjee government and the government employees regarding dearness allowance for a long time. The Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered the West Bengal government to hold a meeting within the next 10 days with the joint forum of state government employees spearheading the agitation against dearness allowance (DA) dues.

Instructions for calling a meeting in 10 days

Acting Chief Justice T.S. A division bench of Justices Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmoy Bhattacharya asked the state government to arrange a bilateral meeting within the next 10 days and also directed the joint forum to send representatives to the meeting. The bench also directed that the meeting be held by Chief Secretary H. .Of. under the chairmanship of Dwivedi. This allowed the United Platform to send five delegates to the meeting.

Next meeting on 24 april

Along with this, the bench also advised the agitators not to go on any kind of strike in the near future, as a case related to pending dues is pending in the Supreme Court and it will be heard on April 24. Now it has to be seen whether When does the state government call a meeting and whether a solution emerges from the meeting or not. Same happens in the next meeting. Tell that according to the central scale government employees are demanding to give 39 percent DA while Mamta government is ready to give only six percent DA.
