Employees Retirement Age: An important news is coming out for the employees. On one hand, the demand for increasing the retirement age is increasing across the country. Important decisions have been taken by many states on increasing the retirement age of their officer employees.

Recently the retirement age of the employees was increased in Kerala. However, it was withdrawn after protests from the opposition. Now the Supreme Court has given a big decision on the retirement age of Ayurveda doctors. After which it has become clear that at present the retirement age of Ayurveda doctors will remain 60 years.

Supreme Court hearing on special permission petition

The Supreme Court had stayed the Rajasthan High Court order 2 days back. In fact, the Rajasthan High Court had given instructions to increase the retirement age of Ayurveda doctors from 60 to 62 years. On this order of the High Court, a Special Leave Petition was filed by the State Government. Hearing on which the Supreme Court has given this order.

The SLP was presented by Advocate General Manish Singhvi on behalf of the State Government. During this, he said that by issuing a notification on March 31, 2016, the retirement age of allopathy doctors was made for 2 years. His retirement age was increased from 60 years to 62 years.

High Court increased the retirement age

After the increase in the retirement age of allopathy doctors, a petition was filed in the High Court by Ayurveda doctors, pleading to increase the retirement age to 62 years. Hearing on which the High Court had ordered to increase the retirement age to 62 years.

Advocate General presented the argument

Presenting the arguments, the Additional Advocate General said that due to the shortage of allopathy doctors in the state, the decision to increase their retirement age was taken, but at present there is no shortage of Ayurveda doctors in Rajasthan.

Apart from this, there is a big change in the service rules, appointment and qualification of allopathic doctors and Ayurveda doctors and the rules for this are also different. In such a situation, the decision of the state government is a policy one. Despite this, in the month of July, the High Court had given instructions to increase the retirement age of Ayurveda doctors to 62 years.

Retirement age will remain 60 years

The important decision has been given by the Supreme Court after hearing all the arguments. In which it has been said that the retirement age of Ayurveda doctors will remain 60 years.
