The process of regularizing the staff has started.

The process of regularizing the employee will be started in Chhattisgarh. Relieving news has come for the irregular employees who have been waiting for regularization for a long time. The issue of regularization of irregular employees was raised in the Parliament during the budget session of the Vidhansabha. To which a big reply was given by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. He said that the action related to regularization is being completed but it is not possible to tell the time frame at the moment.

Budget will be presented on March 6

Prior to this, several demonstrations were also held by the regular employees regarding their demands. At the same time, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel himself has said that action is being taken for regularization. Chhattisgarh’s budget is to be presented on March 6. It is believed that some big announcement can be made on the regularization of employees.

CM’s answer

On the question of Congress MLA Pritam Ram, the Chief Minister replied that the first meeting of the committee was held on September 9, 2020. Information was sought by the committee up to the number of employees working on irregular, daily wages and contracts of all departments and information has been received from 30 departments while information has not been sent by eight departments. Only on the recommendation of the committee and in relation to the regularization of regular daily wage earners and contract employees, the General Administration Department has sought opinion from the Law and Legislative Affairs Department.

For this, the second meeting was held on 16 August 2022, on which information has been sought from all the departments on all 5 points. The five points covered

  • Are daily wage earners and contractual employees appointed through open advertisement and recruitment process?
  • Apart from this, do the employees possess the prescribed educational technical qualification of the said post?
  • Also, on which position are the working employees working?
  • Is that post approved in the post structure recruitment rule of the concerned department?
  • Also, have the reservation rules issued by the government been followed in the said appointment?
  • Not only this, in another question, what honorarium is currently being paid to the irregular daily wagers and contractual employees working on the post?
  • Information has also been sought on this. On which information has been received from 24 departments while information is yet to come from 22 departments. After getting the information, the action will be completed duly according to the rules for regularization.

45000 contract workers employed

There are 45000 contract workers employed in Chhattisgarh. In which many employees are working in PWD including Panchayat Department, Health Department, Agriculture Education and Women and Child Development. In the election manifesto year 2018, various announcements were made regarding the employees. Although the employees have not been regularized yet, whereas now the Chief Minister himself has said that the process has been started for this. After which it is believed that soon the employees can get its benefit.

After 4 years the process is still not complete

Employees Federation’s district president Puran Anand district convenor Doman Yadav and others said that the then state president of the Congress party and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel along with the agriculture minister had publicly promised to regularize the contractual employees within 10 days of forming the government. The agitation was also done by the employees after the promise made in 2018. Despite this, while the employees will demand for regularization, they will continue to raise their voice until their demand is met.
