There has been a huge cut in the prices of LPG gas cylinders, petrol and diesel. Subsidy of Rs 200 on gas cylinder, Rs 7 for diesel and Rs 9.50 on petrol has been cut.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that the new prices of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders will be applicable from Saturday night. For a long time, people had complaints from the government about the inflation of fuel (petrol, diesel, gas). But now the government has taken this decision by taking a big step in this matter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in Jaipur on Friday that he has to think about the well being of the common man. After which Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has taken this decision. He has worked to rein in rising inflation by reducing excise duty for the second time after November. Obviously, this decision has brought great relief to the people.

Government is giving subsidy of 200

Talking about the prices of gas cylinders, the common people have got a big relief in this. 200 per cylinder has been reduced. Information has been given about this that the government has decided to give this Rs 200 as subsidy. But only the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will be able to take advantage of this decision of the government. Also, a subsidy of Rs 200 will be available for only 12 cylinders in a year.

What did the Union Finance Minister say 

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, ‘We are reducing the central excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. This will reduce the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per liter and that of diesel by Rs 7 per liter. He further said, ‘This year, we will give a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas cylinder (up to 12 cylinders) to more than 9 crore people (beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana).
