According to income tax data, the number of billionaires earning Rs 100 crore or more in assessment year 2021-22 has increased to 16 as compared to last year. According to the report of Hindustan Times, the number of people earning Rs 100 crore in the financial year 2022 has increased by 100 percent as compared to the financial year 2021.

Number of taxpayers also increased 

In the financial year 2022, 6.75 crore people have filed ITR, whose collective gross income is Rs 69.6 lakh crore. 589 taxpayers declared total income of more than Rs 500 crore, whose total gross income was Rs 13 lakh crore.

Speed ​​in ITR filing 

According to the data of the IT department, ITR filing has increased rapidly in the last few years. The number of people filing ITR in FY 2014 was 3.36 crore, which increased by 90 percent to 6.37 crore in FY 2022. 7.41 crore returns have been filed for the financial year 2023, out of which 53 lakh new people have filed returns.
