IRCTC Ticket Booking New Update: People get tremendous benefit from this service of IRCTC, ticket booking will be easy

Railway news: To facilitate the railway passengers, Railways has started a new process of booking tickets, which now passengers will not have any confusion while booking tickets.

Indian Railways provides new facilities to provide better facilities to the passengers. In this series, Railways has started a new facility to find the station and make the ticket booking process easier. In this, to identify small stations with popular areas/cities for the convenience of passengers, Railways have adopted a unique method of associating popular areas with the station name. With this new facility, passengers will get better experience in better travel planning and ticket booking. This will also make it easier for the tourists to find the station.

With this facility, passengers can now book tickets easily. In this feature famous areas have been linked with the respective station names. For example, if a passenger wants to visit popular places like Vaishno Devi, Badrinath, Khatu Shyam or Noida, the ticket booking platform will automatically display the nearest railway station, making it easy to find the right booking station.

All stations of 175 popular cities added

Moreover, the new functionality will be especially beneficial for those wishing to book tickets from stations which have been renamed recently. For this, Railways has mapped 175 popular cities and regions with 725 respective stations. Suppose you want to travel to New Delhi and also want to know that which would be the nearest station to where you want to go in Delhi. As soon as you type New Delhi on the website or app, a list of all the stations located in New Delhi will appear in front of you. If you want to go to Kirti Nagar in Delhi then select Kirti Nagar. You will get the related trains going there.

Regarding this new facility, a railway official told TOI that due to lack of awareness about the change in name of some stations, passengers often face difficulties while booking tickets.

For example, Rani Kamlapati station in Bhopal, formerly known as Habibganj station, and Mughalsarai station in Bihar, now known as Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, have created confusion among commuters. Similarly, the name of Jhansi station has been changed to Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi Junction.

However, with the new system in place, a passenger typing in the name of a major city like Bhopal, Delhi or Mumbai will get a list of important stations near that location, making the booking process much simpler.
