Jio is fastest 4G operator now, tops TRAI June test

Jio has been recording highest speed since the past seven months.



New Delhi: Reliance Jio has again been at the topmost level, as the fastest 4G service provider by maintaining the normal download speed of more than 18 MBPS in June, according to the information distributed by telecom regulator TRAI.

According to the TRAI test results, Bharti Airtel’s normal 4G download speed was the lowest at 8.91 mbps. The organization has been asserting to be the speediest 4G service provider according to tests conducted by the firms measuring private broadband speed.

There was a slight decrease in the normal speed of Reliance Jio from 19.12 mbps at the start of the month to 18.65 mbps towards the end of June. In spite of that, Jio’s download speed was around 68 per cent faster than its competitor Vodafone.


Jio has been recording highest speed since the previous seven months.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) gathers and computes the data for download speed with the assistance of its MySpeed application consistently.

According to the TRAI test, Vodafone recorded the normal download speed of 11.07 mbps towards the end of June. It was trailed by Idea Cellular which recorded normal download speed of 9.46 mbps and Airtel at 8.91 mbps at the month end.

4G speed information for mobiles of different administrators was not reported.

In the 3G portion Vodafone finished the chart with normal download speed of 5.16 mbps, trailed via Airtel at 3.56 mbps, Idea 2.94 mbps, Aircel 2.39 mbps and BSNL at 1.65 mbps.
