OPPO Pad 5 India Launch Confirmed: 12.1-inch 2.8K Display & 10,050mAh Battery Revealed

Oppo is finally bringing its new tablet to India, and it’s doing it with a bit of a “wait, what?” twist. As of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the OPPO Pad 5 has officially appeared on a Flipkart microsite, tucked right under the upcoming Reno 15 series.

The thing is, there’s some confusion about what’s actually under the hood for the Indian version. Or nothing. Let’s be real, the “Pad 5” in China is a powerhouse with the Dimensity 9400+, but the Indian listing points toward something slightly different. Those too.

The India Specs: Field Notes

It looks like India might be getting a rebranded version of the Oppo Pad Air 5 (which just went on sale in China today!) rather than the ultra-premium Chinese Pad 5.

  • The Display: It’s a massive 12.1-inch 2.8K panel. It’s LCD, not OLED, but it hits a 144Hz refresh rate. Great for scrolling, but maybe not the deepest blacks for movies.

  • The Battery: This is the big win. A 10,050mAh cell. That’s huge. Even with heavy use, this should easily be a two-day tablet.

  • The Chipset: While the Chinese flagship uses the 9400+, the Indian variant is rumored to run the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra. Still snappy for multitasking, but it’s definitely “mid-premium” rather than a “laptop killer.”

  • The Software: It’s launching with ColorOS 16 (Android 16), which includes some new AI note-taking features.

The “Hidden” Launch & Price

And here’s the kicker: OPPO didn’t even give this its own launch event. They just dropped a “Coming Soon” banner at the bottom of the Reno 15 phone page.

  • Expected Price: In China, the similar Pad Air 5 starts around ₹24,000. However, with the “Pad 5” branding in India and taxes, expect it to land between ₹29,999 and ₹34,999.

  • The Extras: It supports a stylus (the “Oppo Pencil”) and a keyboard folio, but—classic move—you’ll have to buy those separately. They aren’t in the box.

Basically, if you’re looking for a giant screen for Netflix and some light office work without spending iPad Pro money, this is the one to watch in January 2026.
