The central government is running many schemes for the economic progress of the farmers. These include PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana for farmers above 60 years of age. Under this scheme, farmers are given an annual pension of Rs 36,000.

According to a report by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), 10.07 crore families in the country are dependent on agriculture. This number is 48 percent of the total households in the country. Such a large population cannot be kept out of the mainstream of development.

This is the reason why the central government is running many schemes for the economic progress of the farmers. These include many schemes including Kisan Samman Nidhi. In this episode, the government is running a pension scheme for farmers above 60 years of age.

Its name is PM Kisan Mandhan Yojana. Under this, farmers above 60 years of age are being given a pension of Rs 3,000 per month or Rs 36,000 annually.

However, to get the benefit of this pension scheme, farmers have to invest first. Farmers from 18 years to 40 years can invest in PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. Under this scheme, a pension of Rs 3000 per month is given to the farmers after the age of 60 years. However, to get the pension, farmers have to make a small investment first.

The investment amount varies between Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month. A farmer has to invest Rs 55 at the age of 18, while Rs 200 every month at the age of 40. After 60 years of age, they will start getting pension. Pradhan Mantri Maandhan Yojana was implemented in 2019.

, the benefit of this scheme of the central government can be given to all those farmers, who are taking advantage of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. However, at the same time farmers can take advantage of this scheme, who have cultivable land up to a maximum of 2 hectares.

There is an exemption to choose to invest directly in this scheme out of 6000 rupees received from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. In this way the farmer need not spend money directly from his pocket.
