Punjab National Bank (PNB) has given a loud blow to its customers on the new year. The state-run bank has increased the charges for various services related to normal banking operations. These changes will be applicable from next 15 January 2022.

According to the information available on the PNB website, the bank has also changed the rules for facilities like savings accounts, lockers, demand drafts and current accounts. Now the charge for having less balance in the savings account has also been doubled. For cancellation of demand draft, now Rs 50 more will have to be paid.

Now there should be 10000 rupees in savings account

According to the information available on PNB’s website, now it is necessary for customers living in urban areas to have a minimum balance of Rs 10,000 in their savings account. Till now this amount was Rs 5000. The charge on low balance has also been doubled. Till now it was Rs 300. Now it’s 600. Customers in rural areas will have to pay Rs 400 per quarter instead of Rs 200 if the amount is less than the minimum balance.

Locker fee will also have to be paid more

PNB has also made changes in the locker charges. All types of lockers except the extra-large size lockers will now have to pay a higher fee. In urban and metros, the locker charge has been increased to Rs 500. The charge of small size locker was earlier one thousand rupees in rural areas, which has been reduced to Rs 1,250. The charge of small lockers in urban areas has been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. The charge of a medium-sized locker has increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 in rural areas, while it has increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500 in urban areas.

PNB has also reduced the number of locker visits. You can now visit the locker 12 times in a year. After this, an additional fee of Rs 100 will have to be paid on every visit. It is worth noting that till now the facility of locker visit was available 15 times. That is, now you will be able to visit less to see your locker.
