Banking Rules For Senior Citizens : According to the rules of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all the banks of the country provide some special facilities to the senior citizens. So that they do not have any problem in any banking related work. If you are above 70 years of age. So you can avail some basic banking facilities from the comfort of your home. Apart from this, Senior Citizens Savings Scheme is also run in banks. Under which senior citizens get many facilities related to account opening to account closing in banks.
Operation of Senior Citizen Account
Banks are required to convert the KYC compliant account as “Senior Citizen Account” based on the date of birth available in the records of the banks. This gives relief only to senior citizens.
Counter for senior citizens
As per RBI regulations, all banks are also required to provide dedicated counters for senior citizens. Here special care is taken of the needs of senior citizens. All these facilities are run by central banks to make banking even easier for senior citizens. Customers can also file a complaint in case of any misbehavior. Apart from this, the Central Bank has also advised banks to provide doorstep service.
