Samsung 2026 Micro RGB TV Lineup: 55-inch to 115-inch Models Set to Challenge OLED Dominance

0

Samsung is officially trying to kill off the OLED era before it even fully takes over. As of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, the company has confirmed it’s bringing Micro RGB technology—previously reserved for the ultra-wealthy—to normal living room sizes starting in 2026.

The thing is, we’ve heard about Micro LED for years, but it was always “coming soon” or cost as much as a house. Or nothing. Let’s be real, this is the first time Samsung is committing to 55-inch and 65-inch models. Those too.

The 2026 Lineup: From “Normal” to Massive

Samsung is essentially blanketing every possible wall size with this tech.

  • Compact Premium: 55-inch, 65-inch.

  • Standard Flagship: 75-inch, 85-inch.

  • Home Cinema: 100-inch, 115-inch.

  • The “Holy Grail”: The 115-inch model launched in late 2025 for a staggering $29,999 (~₹25 lakh), but these smaller 2026 models are expected to be priced closer to flagship OLEDs.

Why Micro RGB is the “OLED Killer”

It’s not just a marketing name. It’s a fundamental shift in how screens work.

  1. Independent LEDs: It uses sub-100μm LEDs (smaller than a human hair) that emit their own light. No backlight, no “blooming.”

  2. Zero Burn-in: Unlike OLED, these are inorganic. You can leave a news ticker on for 10 years and the screen won’t care.

  3. 100% BT.2020: This is a big deal for cinephiles. It covers the full professional color gamut, something even the best current TVs struggle with.

  4. Glare Free: It uses a new proprietary coating that makes the screen look like a matte painting even in a sun-drenched room.

The “Vision AI” Companion

And here’s the kicker: the TV is becoming a giant smartphone. Samsung is launching Vision AI Companion, which is basically Bixby on steroids.

  • It’s a “multi-agent” platform. You can ask Perplexity to find facts about the movie you’re watching or use Live Translate to get real-time subtitles for foreign news.

  • It’s powered by a new Micro RGB AI Engine Pro that handles 4K upscaling frame-by-frame.

Audio: Eclipsa vs. Atmos

Samsung is also pushing its own spatial audio format called Eclipsa Audio. It’s an open-source rival to Dolby Atmos developed with Google. It supports 28 individual channels, which is wild for a home setup. It’s an ongoing situation where Samsung will showcase the full range at CES 2026 (Jan 6-9), but for now, the 55-inch model is the one to watch if you want the best possible picture without selling a kidney.
