OnePlus is throwing its 12th-anniversary bash in Bengaluru tonight, and the stars of the show are the OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition. These phones are basically performance monsters designed to keep you away from a charger for days. And then the 7 PM keynote will finally reveal the damage to our wallets.

The thing is, we already have a pretty clear picture of what’s under the hood. Here’s the kicker: the 15R is the first phone on the planet to run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. OnePlus spent two years co-developing this silicon with Qualcomm just to make sure it handles gaming without breaking a sweat.

The Hardware Breakdown

  • The Battery: We’re looking at a massive 7,400mAh cell. That is the biggest battery OnePlus has ever stuffed into a phone for the Indian market. It uses “Silicon Nanostack” tech to stay thin, and the company claims it’ll still hold 80\% of its health after four years.

  • The Screen: A 1.5\text{K} AMOLED panel with a screaming 165Hz refresh rate. It hits 1,800 nits of brightness, so you won’t be squinting in the sun, or nothing.

  • The Cameras: They finally put autofocus on the selfie cam. It’s a 32MP front-facing sensor that can record in 4text. On the back, you get a 50MP main shooter with the same “DetailMax” engine used in the pricier OnePlus 15.

  • The Build: This is a first for the R-series—it’s getting IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings. Basically, it’s built like a tank against dust and water.

What’s the Damage?

Let’s be real, prices are creeping up. Leaks suggest the 12GB+256GB base model will land between ₹47,000 and ₹49,000. If you want the 512GB version, expect to pay north of ₹52,000. The Ace Edition is the flashy one, coming in a special “Electric Violet” with a fiberglass back for that “ultimate gamer” vibe.

Everything goes live at 6:55 PM IST on YouTube. If you’re looking for a phone that won’t die by lunchtime, this might be the one.
