Premium in PMJJBY increased to Rs 20

According to the report, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) provides financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the nominee in case of death due to any reason. In this, people of 18 to 50 years can apply. Till now the premium for this scheme was deducted at Rs 12 in a year but now it has been increased to Rs 20.

PMSBY premium also increased

At the same time, in the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), there is a provision of giving 2 lakh rupees in case of death or complete disability in any accident. Whereas in case of partial disability, Rs 1 lakh is given. People whose age is 18 to 70 years are eligible to apply in this scheme. The annual premium of this plan was Rs 330 till now but it has been increased to Rs 436 now.

456 rupees will have to be paid for both the schemes

Due to this fee hike of the central government, the premium of both the welfare schemes has now increased from Rs 342 to Rs 456. The premium of both these plans is deducted in June every year. That is why now all the banks and post offices are sending a message to their account holders, telling them to keep a minimum of Rs 500 in their account in addition to Rs 456, so that these schemes can be renewed. A similar message has also been sent from Punjab National Bank.

Both are flagship schemes of Modi government
