Giving the gift of Navratri to the employees, the Modi government at the Center has increased the dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 percent.

There is good news for 1 crore central employees-pensioners. According to sources, the Modi government at the Center has increased the dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 percent, giving the gift of Navratri to the employees. The proposal for DA increase has been approved in the important cabinet meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday, 28 September. This will come into effect from July 1.

After this decision, the total DA of employees-pensioners will increase from 34% to 38 percent. This will be applicable from July 1, in which case arrears of 2 months will also be available and the salary of September will be available with increased DA and arrears. Its benefit will be given to 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners. Last time the government increased DA in March, it came into effect from January 1, 2022. In March, the government had increased the DA by 3%, that is, it was increased from 31% to 34%. Now pensioners will also get pension at the rate of 38 percent.

Actually, at present central employees are getting the benefit of 34% DA and now 38% DA will be available. Along with this, the PF, gratuity contribution, transport allowance and city allowance of the employees will also increase. For example, if the minimum salary of an employee is Rs 18000 and the level of cabinet secretary is Rs 56900 and DA will be given at the rate of 38%, then the total increase in DA on basic salary annually will increase by Rs 6840, i.e. There will be an increase of Rs 720 in the monthly DA. The same if your basic salary is Rs 56900 then you will get dearness allowance of Rs 27312.

Please note that dearness allowance is a part of salary. It is a fixed percentage of the basic salary of the employee. To reduce the effect of inflation in the country, the government gives dearness allowance to its employees. It is extended from time to time. Retired employees also get this benefit. For this, fill your salary in the formula given below.. (Basic Pay + Grade Pay) × DA % = DA Amount

Calculation on maximum basic salary

1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 56,900
2. New dearness allowance (38%) Rs 21,622/month
3. Dearness allowance so far (34%) Rs 19,346/month
4. How much dearness allowance increased by 21,622-19,346 = Rs 2260/month
5 2. Increase in annual salary 2260 X12 = Rs 27,120

Calculation on minimum basic salary

1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 18,000
2. New dearness allowance (38%) Rs 6840/month
3. Dearness allowance so far (34%) Rs 6120/month
4. By how much dearness allowance increased 6840-6120 = Rs 1080/month
5 Increase in annual salary 720X12 = Rs 8640
