Get ready for New Reliance Jio Phone for Free. You can get it in two variants.

Jio Phone pre order booking (online and offline) starts from 24th August’2017

Though Jio Phone has already launched, but it is nowhere close to hitting the market at present – you might even have to wait for a couple of months before you can get to own the device. The main reason is that the Jio-branded phone will be available for beta testing on 15th August’ 2017, but this will most likely be for a very small section of the market. If your slot doesn’t fall in the beta trials bracket, you will have to wait for 24th August’2017, when the Jio Phone bookings start. It is up to the customer to either make the Jio Phone booking online or offline (through a retail outlet). This beta trial system is almost similar to what the company did an year ago with its telecom network, when it held a beta trial for select users for a few months before opening it to the public in September.



Jio Phone booking online

Jio Phone is free, according to Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. But, the user has to make an upfront payment of Rs.1,500, which is refundable after a period of three years. Regarding this security deposit of Rs.1,500, he said at the AGM, “The security deposit is necessary to avoid any potential misuse of data.”

Cost

Titled as “India Ka Smartphone”, the buyer will have to shell out a deposit of Rs. 1500 which will be refundable, making it to be free. The amount, however, will be returned once the phone is given back after three years. This move is to increase the subscriber base, which is estimated to about 50 crore feature phone users who have not been able to join the Jio 4G bandwagon because of the high costs associated with smartphones.

Booking

The new phone will have 4G VoLTE and have in-built apps such as apps like JioCinema, JioTV, and JioMusic. The pre-booking of the phone will start from 24th August from the MyJio app and offline Jio stores. Those who pre-book will be able to buy the phone from September onwards. The phone will be available on first come first serve basis.

Data Plans

The data plans begin with Rs.153 with 500mb/day data availability. If one does not want to use monthly packs, then there are two sachet packs, at Rs.24 for two days, or Rs.54 per week.



Specifications

The exact specifications are not officially out, but there will atleast be two versions of the smartphone. One with the Qualcomm processor, and another could come with a Spreadtrum chipset.

The screen can be mirrored on a LED or CRT TV, via a cable. This will also support UPI payments, and debit and credit card payments, Facebook, Jio Browser.

Mukesh Ambani Said,

“There are 78 crore mobile phones in India. Out of this, there are more than 50 crore feature phone users, who have been left out. They can neither afford the cheapest LTE smartphone, nor the steep cost of data.”

 



By targeting the common man, Reliance Jio has completely changed the face of the telecom industry. Advanced smartphones and 4G data usage is no longer a distant dream fort them. This will force other telecom players in the industry to renew their strategy to prevent the monopoly of Jio in the market by coming up with innovative schemes for the users.

  14. My Jio no. is 9323737549. I don’t get continuous Gio voice service. It gets disconnected after about 5 minutes. I have reported many times. Due to this deficiency, I don’t get calls. I am seriously considering porting out if it is not rectified in next one week.

  297. It is excellent. Shri Dhirubhai’s dream of “LO KARLO DUNIYA MUTHI ME” is coming through. My suggestions/request is to improve the connectivity. I had switched over from Voda to Jio but after three months, I was forced to go back to Voda due to connectivity problem. My calls were not coming through and use to get SMS after wards saying there was a miss call. This should not happen when you come out with your own mobile. Even today, I have ‘WIFI’ JIO connection but very frequently, the calls are getting disconnected.

    Kindly look into the matter urgently.

  631. Jio phone can be most suitable for poor people and senior citizen who are using pre paid phones and spending Rs 50-100 per month for calling only. They largely do not need or want any data. If this mobile can give the same features what is demonstrated by Akash Bhai in AGM at the same cost (<100) which is spent by these people than only it can attract large volumes.
    Rs. 149 monthly is too much for free calls for poor people and senior citizens as they do use that much.

  965. I am a regular JIO user. Personally I am so much impressed to JIO that most may feel jealous. Some points I want to share with all that
    1. Just go back 12-15 years when most handset company and net providers use to sell their products at high cost. That time it was the company “Reliance” launched mobile phone at just Rs.500/- , tipically beautyful blue screened arial type shaped with low cost of calling. Think how cheap was in that time comparatively and slowly most of service providers followed the line.
    2. JIO 4G was launched with free of cost SIM with free of cost calling and net use. Try to recall another which company provided the same ??
    3. Today I cannot exactly remember the date when I recharged my JIO sim with Rs.303/- but using facilities till date. As a human being every one JIO user should thank to Reliance again for such activity. However, I, personally, thank JIO.
    4. If we go to market today, I think Rs.1500/- will not be able to enable us to buy a good 4G handset with such facilities. Then the scheme may be very good one.
    5. Last but not least; if we try to swallow the seed of a mango howsoever sweet it be, our foodpipe may be choked with painful suffocation causing death. Then, boss just rethink about the scheme keeping doubts aside.
    However, above stated facts are from my own experience and may differ with anyone.
    I am loving in JIO.

This had poisoned in the upper and middle class people who could offer for smart phone and even some poor people who had purchased it even thou they do not have money for their bread.
    Now this offer will poison all the poor and below poverty line people to get to the worst condition of life without good relationship engagements…

    For a Good food we should PAY for the quality and quantity to get it…
    Similarly to get all communicating facility we should pay according to our needs and wish….

    What Jio did for bringing Net free is not good idea but should have made it to some base minimal price…! to pay responsive amount to honor the usage of it by the user….

    On other hand,… it did all efforts to cut the tails of other Mobile operators who are Grabbing the money with huge tariff for the NET as well calls & SMS to their wish,… where TRAI do not have any ruling or guidelines over controlling these Operators in the interest of the citizen people and maintaining it..

    • Yes, the network is very poor. In the beginning it was Ok, but now I am practically left with no other alternative than to switch over other network provider. First of all Reliance Jio should do something to improve the network quality. I hope, a good businessman like Shri Mukesh Ambani would certainly do something to improve their network quality before introducing the new Jio Phone otherwise, lost of customers like me would opt out of the Jio system. I do prefer for a Jio Phone.

Recently, they played their gimmic by telling people to change their handsets for getting 4G. We were paying Rs.299 or Rs.499 for good use of Data Plan for 28-days. This was running good though charge is more. Still, they were so greedy that they were telling their customers to change the Handset. Is this not their wrong business of favouring those of the Brands all we know by now. RELIANCE can rely that they shall teach AIRTEL/VODAFONE in their looting their customers with high charges of Data Plan and also selling new handsets costly.

I have used Jio in Jammu & its just fantastic, Places like Delhi, Mumbai all have other options but we people have nothing, so please start Jio service in Ladakh as its a very big tourist hub.

    However I found that the service was not good in my area at Tambaram Chennai . Most often the phone showing OFFLINE. Then every time i have to restart to get the signal or range for calls and data. Thus I could not make continuous use of same ,even after payments . I AM WONDERING SHOULD i CONTINUE OR GET OUT OF jIO
    I am reluctant to ,though I wish to go with jio, to continue . Jio can help me if some way of dicussion with jio rep is possible .

    The latest from Ambani’s Reliance is that despite our Make In India slogan… The order for 30 crore mobile Handsets has been placed with enemy country China’s companies.
    Reliance will procure them in 3 lots of 10 crore sets each and distribute them at a deposit of 1500/- only. They will not sell these sets. And when there is no sale then they will not pay the 28% GST applicable .
    Which implies that on 10 crore sets of 1500/- each @28% GST..The 4200 crore rupees payable criteria has disappeared into thin air & in 3 lots it amounts to a mind boggling 12600 crores rupees lost by the government in revenue.

    This 1500/- security will be returned after 3 years without asking back for handset which then becomes free..But why such generosity?
    Because this huge quantity of 30 crore handset will not be shown in purchase account or trading stock account…Instead the 45 lakh crore revenue will be shown in promotion expense account and the more the expenses shown…Less the profit & less the profit…Less Income Tax payable..Here this will total to 15 lakh crore saved from government in taxes….A huge loss in revenue.
    Reliance didn’t need to spend anything and raised a huge amount through security deposit.
    Three birds killed with one stone !!!

I waited for long but even after a one and half year longing the wait is not over. jio is not releasing the media cable even after no. of assurance. i think its not a good business proposition for jio however no matter, it may be one important accessory fpr some users and reason to purchase jio phone but jio gives a damn about it.
