However, it was decided that the new recruitment will be done according to the pay scale fixed by the Central Pay Commission. Giving information, it was clarified that there is no proposal to give salary to the employees of the state according to the old pay scale of the government. 19 Central scales have been issued by the state. At the same time, the state government is paying more salary to the employees. The Finance Minister clarified that the pay scale on the lines of the Center has been implemented by the government to the employees recruited after July 17, 2020, in various departments of the state. Not only this, MLA Apali said that the new pay scale is causing loss, so the old allowances should be implemented. On which the Finance Minister has given clarification.

Expenditure on salaries and allowances

The Finance Minister clarified that last year the fixed expenditure on salaries and allowances was 46.97%, which is likely to be 46.39% this year while talking about other states, Kerala spends only 42.63% on salaries and pensions and Haryana 42.90% on its employees.

Along with this, Education Minister Harjot Bas has also given important information during the Question Hour in the House. He said that the recruitment of 2,000 PT teachers is under consideration by the State Government. At the same time, demonstrations were seen in Punjab regarding the recruitment of teachers and making their jobs permanent. However, this process is currently under consideration and may take time.

With the payment of salary as per the central pay scale, there will be some reduction in the salary of the employees. The employees appointed there will be paid salary according to the central pay scale. Earlier, the Punjab government had talked about preparing its own pay commission. However, now the state government has given clarification on this.
