Preparing to increase DA

Preparations are being made by the central government to increase DA once again. The speculation of the employees is also increasing. In fact, according to media reports, from July 1, an increase of about 3 percent can be seen in the dearness allowance. With this happening, the dearness allowance of the employees will again see an increase. It is expected to increase to 45 to 46%.

At present, the benefit of 42% dearness allowance is being given to the central employees. Dearness Allowance has been increased by 4% from January 2023. With this, dearness allowance has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. Arrears are being paid to the employees. Meanwhile, preparations have been started to increase the dearness allowance in the coming July.

AICPI figures from January to March have been released. On the other hand, after the figures for April, May-June come, it will be clear that by what percentage the dearness allowance is to be increased. This much is clear that the increase in dearness allowance can be of 3 or 4 percent.

In the month of February where dearness allowance was reduced by a few points. And in the month of March, an increase of 0.7 points has been recorded in it. It is being claimed in the media report that with the increase of 3 to 4 percent in the dearness allowance of the employees, their dearness allowance is expected to reach 45%. At present, no official confirmation has been made by the Central Government regarding the increase in their dearness allowance, but with the DA increase, the salary of the employees will be seen to increase again.

Salary will increase due to fitment factor

By the end of this year for the employees, there can be a significant increase in the salary for them in the coming year. Increasing the minimum wage can also be considered by the central government. The salary hike has been a long-standing demand of the employees union. At the same time, there is a demand to increase the fitment factor to 3.68%.

At present the fitment factor for central employees is 2.57. On the basis of this the salary is paid to the employees. The fitment factor is also very important for salary calculation. Employees are being given benefits under the Sixth Pay Commission. There is a demand to increase it under the Seventh Pay Commission, while on the other hand the government is of the opinion that the fitment factor should be increased to 3:00 per cent. If the fitment factor is increased by 3 percent, then the minimum pay will increase to Rs.21000. While with an increase of 3.68 times, an increase of Rs 8000 will be seen in the basic salary of the employees. With this, his basic salary may increase to Rs 26,000.

Update on new pay commission

A new pay commission can also be announced for central employees. In fact, media is continuously sending reports on the announcement and implementation plan of the 8th Pay Commission. Citing the information, it was told that the memorandum was prepared. The same can be handed over to the government soon. An important clarification has been given by the Government regarding the office of the 8th Pay Commission in the Parliament.

While giving information in the Lok Sabha, the government had told that at present the government has no plan regarding the 8th Pay Commission. Also any plan was categorically denied by the government. The same report suggested that the deliberations on the 8th Pay Commission could pick up pace only after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At present, there is no clarification regarding the new pay commission.

Update on 18 months arrears

The government had told in the Lok Sabha that the dearness allowance of the employees was stopped during the Corona epidemic. However, giving information in the Lok Sabha, the government said that the withheld dearness relief and dearness allowance of employees and pensioners have been used to fight the pandemic. At the same time, the possibility of paying the outstanding arrears of 18 months has been ruled out by the government.
