Sarma cites biggest social-sector scheme
Speaking on the occasion at a function organized in the premises of Assam House in the national capital, Sarma termed ‘Arunodaya’ as the biggest social-sector scheme in the history of the state, involving lakhs of people. Has the potential to fundamentally change lives.

17 lakh women getting benefited
He said that under the first phase of this social sector scheme, so far about 17 lakh women are receiving an amount of Rs 1,250 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method on 10th of every month. Is.

The CM said, ‘With the addition of 10.5 lakh new beneficiaries from today, it will add a total of more than 27 lakh beneficiaries.’

‘The scheme will be helpful in the goal of eradicating poverty’
The Chief Minister said that a minimum cash flow guarantee of Rs 1,250 to the state’s underprivileged families would be extremely helpful in the government’s goal of poverty alleviation.

Divyang-transgenders will also be given benefits
He further said that from April 2023 all existing beneficiaries of Deen Dayal Divyang Pension Yojana and Indira Miri Widow Pension Scheme will be included under Arunodaya 2.0. Divyangs and transgenders will also be included under the ‘Arunodaya’ scheme.

“Families whose members are dwarf or suffering from conditions like cerebral palsy, thalassemia, haemophilia etc. will also be covered under the ‘Arunodaya’ scheme,” he added.

Removed about three lakh ineligible people
According to the state government, around 2.75 lakh beneficiaries under ‘Arunodaya’ were removed from the eligible-beneficiary list on the basis of a survey, as some had died, while some others were found ineligible for the scheme.
