Indian Railways Rules: The time from 10 pm to 6 am is considered good for sleeping. Earlier, due to some passengers having dinner in the time from 9 to 6 o’clock, other passengers used to get upset.

Railways New Rule For Passengers: Those who often travel by train must know about the rules that are changed from time to time by the Railway Board. In the past, some rules applicable to the passengers have been changed by the Railways. One of these rules is also related to sleeping in the sleeper and AC coach of the train. That is, the Railways has now changed the time of sleeping in trains. Earlier, on behalf of the Railway Board, the passenger was allowed to sleep for a maximum of nine hours. But now this time has been reduced to 8 hours.

This time has changed from earlier time

According to the rule, earlier passengers could sleep in AC coach and sleeper from 9 pm to 6 am. But according to the changed rules from the Railways, now you will be able to sleep only from 10 in the night till 6 in the morning. For sleeping more than this, you may also have to pay a fine as per the railway manual. This change is applicable only in those trains which have sleeping arrangements. The reason for implementing this change is to provide proper comfort to the passengers.

Time reduced from 9 hours to 8 hours

Actually, the time from 10 pm to 6 am is considered good for sleeping. Earlier, due to some passengers having dinner in the time from 9 to 6 o’clock, other passengers used to get upset. Now the Railways believes that the traveling passengers will be free from dinner etc. till 10 pm and will be able to sleep on their berths and travel comfortably. Another reason for the change in timings is that passengers on lower berths have been complaining for a long time that middle berth passengers fall asleep quickly. Due to this, the passenger sitting on the seat below is in trouble.

After considering such complaints and suggestions, Railways has changed the sleeping time. According to the new rule, a middle berth passenger can sleep from 10 pm to 6 am. After this he will have to vacate the berth. If you see any passenger sleeping before or after this time, then you can complain about it to the concerned authorities. Action can be taken against the passenger for violating these rules. Keeping in view the convenience of the passengers, this rule was implemented by the Railways in the year 2017.
