Actor Vijay Deverakonda visited his father’s birthplace, Thummanpet village in Telangana’s Achampet Mandal, alongside his wife, actor Rashmika Mandanna, to celebrate the successful completion of the first year of their joint student scholarship initiative.
During the crowded public event, a candid, affectionate moment between the couple quickly went viral on social media. The clip shows Rashmika assisting Vijay amidst the gathering, using a tissue to wipe sweat from his forehead and fixing his moustache.

Expanding Educational Support: The Scholarship Initiative
The couple visited the village to personally reward top-performing students from the region. The initiative, which the duo originally envisioned and announced in February, specifically targets hardworking 9th and 10th-grade students across the Achampet Mandal to encourage higher education.
Following the event, Vijay shared photos on Instagram alongside Rashmika and his parents to mark the milestone.
Vijay Deverakonda posted: “Another Good day. Just Wrapped year 1 of Scholarships to 45 schools – 180 students. Look forward to seeing you all again in 2027 June. Will work towards making it bigger. Lots of love from us all.”
Ahead of their arrival, Vijay also took to X (formerly Twitter) to publish the verified list of the 180 chosen students, expressing immense pride in traveling back to his family’s roots to honor local youth.
