There is good news for the employees. His dearness allowance has been revised. Orders have been issued for this. Under the issued order, the employees will be given the benefit of variable dearness allowance.

Employees News, Employees Revised VDA Hike: There is big news for the employees. In fact, orders have been issued for revision of their variable dearness allowance. For this, its orders have been issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Employees will be given this benefit under the issued order.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the notification by the Central Government, the rates of Variable Dearness Allowance on the basis of average consumer price index for industrial workers to reach from 365.76 to 378.58 as on 31.12.2022 (Base 2016=100) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment has been amended. As a result, it increased by 12.82 points. Revised Variable Dearness Allowance will be payable from 01.04.2023 as follows; ,

Gypsum Mines, Barytes Mines, Bauxite Mines, Manganese Mines, China Clay Mines, Kyanite Mines, Copper Mines, Clay Mines, Magnesite Mines, White Clay Mines, Stone Mines, Steatite Mines (including Soap Stones and Talc making Ocher Mines, Asbestos Mines, Fire Clay Mines, Chromite Mines, Quartzite Mines, Quartz Mines, Silica Mines, Graphite Mines, Feldspar Mines, Laterite Mines, Dolomite Mines, Red Oxide Mines, Iron Mines Ore Mines, Granite Mines, Rock Phosphate Mines, Hematite Mines, Marble and Calcite Mines, Uranium Mines, Mica Mines, Lignite Mines, Gravel Mines, Slate Mines and Magnetite Mines.

As per the decision of the Minimum Wages Advisory Board the VDA is rounded off to the next higher Rs. According to the order, the classification of workers under various categories will be similar to Part-I of the notification, while the classification of cities will be similar to Part-II of the notification dated January 19, 2017. The current classification of cities in Zones A, B and C is enclosed at Annexure I for ready reference.

Therefore, the minimum rates of wages including basic rates and variable dearness allowance are payable with effect from 01.04.2023. From 01.04.2023, the payment to the employees working in agriculture sector will be as follows:-

  • Semi Skilled/Unskilled Supervisor – 364+149=513 —335+137=472 —307+ 127=434

  • Highly Efficient – ​​438+ 179=617 —–407+167=574 —–364+ 149=513

Revised VDA on Minimum Wages for Sweeping and Safai Karamcharis from 1st April, 2023
VDA is fixed for employees engaged in “Employment of sweeping and cleaning”, excluding the employment of manual scavengers and activities prohibited under the Construction of Dry Latrines (Prohibition! Act, 1993).

Therefore, the mm1mm rates of wages indicating the basic rates and variable dearness allowance payable w.e.f. 01.04.2023 will be as under:-
