Payment of arrears

Tell that the order has been issued by the Railway Board’s Pay Commission, 7th Commission and Deputy Director of HRMS, Jayakumar. The circular issued states that the revision in dearness allowance for railway employees will be effective from January 1, 2023. They will be paid arrears of 3 months.

Dearness Allowance increased from 38 to 42

In the circular issued by the Railway Board, it has been said that a special letter was issued on 4 October 2022 by the Ministry of Railways. In which it was said that a decision has been taken by the President to pay dearness allowance to the railway employees. At the same time, once again his dearness allowance has been increased at the rate of four percent. With which their current dearness allowance has increased from 38 to 42. With this, it has been made effective from January 1, 2023.

Instructions issued

The Ministry has issued an order stating that it has been decided to increase the Dearness Allowance payable to President Railway employees from the existing rate of 38% of Basic Pay to 42% with effect from January 1, 2023. In the revised pay structure ‘Basic Pay’ ‘ means the pay drawn in the prescribed level in the pay matrix as per the recommendations of the 7th CPC accepted by the Government but does not include any other type of pay like special pay etc.

Dearness Allowance shall continue to be a distinct element of remuneration and shall not be treated as pay within the purview of Rule 1303 (FR 9(21)), Indian Railway Establishment Code, Volume-II (Sixth Edition – 1987) – Second Reprint 2005. As per the instructions issued, the payment of Dearness Allowance in respect of fractions of 50 paise and above may be rounded off to the next higher rupee and fractions of less than 50 paise may be ignored.

DA rate increased by 4 percent for central employees

Earlier, the rate of DA for central employees was increased at the rate of 4 percent. Along with this, dearness allowance was increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. Along with this, they will be paid arrears of 3 months. For this, an order has been issued by the Finance Department.
